Where does Premier Underwriting fit in
Premier Underwriting negotiates capacity from insurers such as Premier Insurance Company Limited and uses that to design and price its own products. These are distributed through a network of carefully selected insurance intermediaries from which customers make their purchase either directly or via Price Comparison Websites. Premier Underwriting receives a commission from the insurers to cover the costs of running the business and it may receive a share of any profits made by the insurers if the underwriting results are profitable. No employees of Premier Underwriting give any form of advice to customers; any advice received during the purchase of a policy will have been given solely by your insurance intermediary. Premier Underwriting and its employees always act on behalf of their insurers.
The Directors
Paul Gray
Paul has been the owner and Managing Director of Premier Underwriting since its inception in 1999. Prior to that he held senior underwriting positions at several major insurers. Following the success of Premier Underwriting Limited, Paul went on to conceive and create Premier Insurance Company Limited which started trading in 2009. Premier Insurance Company Limited is a wholly owned insurer, based in Gibraltar and regulated by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC), which writes Personal Lines business. Paul owns 100% of both Premier Underwriting Limited and Premier Insurance Company Limited.
Steve Tidd
Steve joined Premier in 2020, bringing his broad experience to further develop the Premier proposition. Throughout his career he has held a number of Executive Director positions within the insurance and reinsurance spheres. He has held various leadership, operational and underwriting roles in the UK, Gibraltar and internationally. Steve’s previous companies include Lloyd’s entities, Gibraltar insurance companies, UK managing general agents and international reinsurance companies.
